Folks in Waterloo Ontario have many different ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the ones
you love of all ages. Whether you enjoy making crafts, cooking, or enjoying the great outdoors,
there is no shortage of activities for you and your Valentine. The following are our top choices for couples and families to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the one(s) you love.

1) Valentine’s Crafts for Kids at Waterloo Region Museum
Bring the kids aged 4-10 on February 7th and 8th for Valentines themed crafts
throughout the day from 11 AM-5 PM. The craft sessions are included with museum admission.

2) Fishing
If your Valentine enjoys the great outdoors, Valens Lake Conservation Area (40 minutes
from Waterloo) is holding their annual Valentine’s Ice Fishing Derby for bluegills and crappies
on Valentine’s Day. The bobbers drop at 6 AM. However, if you’re looking for non-competitive
fishing, the province of Ontario is offering a license free fishing weekend for Canadian residents
from February 14th-16th.

3) Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory Valentine’s Day Dinner
If you love nature but don’t want to brave the elements, the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory
(20 minutes from Waterloo) just may be your answer. The Conservatory is hosting a Valentine’s
Day Dinner and Stroll. The $65 admission fee ($60 for Conservatory members) includes
admission, a four course dinner, and gratuities with an extra charge for beverages, with a
seating at 7:30 PM.

4) “The Romance of France” Dance in Guelph
The Eden Mills Community Hall in Guelph (45 minutes from Waterloo) will be hosting
“The Romance of France” Dance on Valentine’s Night. Bouree a Trois, with Robin Aggis and
Friends, will be performing French and Breton folk music starting at 7 PM. Admission is $20 and
includes dance lessons.

5) “Music for Stage and Screen” Concert
The Renaissance Singers have a Broadway and movie themed performance scheduled
for Valentine’s Night at Knox Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. Selections will include pieces
from :Les Miserables” and “Titanic”. The performance will begin at 7:30 PM, and tickets are $20.

6) Valentine’s Day Goodies at Kitchener Market
Join the people at Kitchener Market on Valentine’s Day to learn how to bake Valentine’s
Day Goodies as part of their “Kids in the Kitchen” series. The fun starts at 9 AM and the whole
family is invited.

7) “Shake N Skate”
A “cool” way to spend time with your Valentine is Waterloo’s monthly “Shake N Skate” at
the skating rink at the Waterloo Public Square. February’s edition happens on February 8th as
Mark Furious, Bounty, and MC Chedda play tunes from 7-9 PM. Free hot chocolate and prizes
will be provided.

8) Dining out
A number of restaurants around the Waterloo Region will be offering specials on
Valentine’s Weekend. Some examples include Aqua Restaurant and Lounge at the Crowne
Plaza in Kitchener offering a 3 course dinner for $40 per person, and Proof in Uptown Waterloo will be
offering a special Valentine’s Day menu from the 12th to the 15th.
